4 Week Series in May
Mondays 7PM - 8PM at the gym
Embodied Dance is back! Come through for release & grounding movement, a delicious way to end your night and an energizing way to start your week. A flowing & expressive dance class with deep warm ups, isolations, and guiding movements set to curated music. Move through a spectrum of songs and energies – slow, smooth, fast, light, sharp, fierce, hard, soft and anything between – with space to adjust & adapt depending on your inspiration and how your body is showing up that day. Guiding prompts build to support movement through freestyle & self expression. Open to all levels!
Drop ins are welcome. Come to all sessions to support diving deeper into the practices & build on the movements. Wear comfortable clothes to move & sweat in. Move with bare feet or supportive shoes!
nicky (she/they) has been leading dance classes, original choreography, and movement workshops in Oakland & beyond since 2012. nicky loves that dance offers us emotional release, inspires us to be present, and nourishes resilience in the way it challenges and connects us with our minds, bodies, spirits, and each other. They enjoy making space to feel pleasure, move slow, take up space, and move through uncomfortability whether matching movements to music or letting go in freestyle.
